World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth - Gaming News
Legion felt to me almost like a playground for all of Blizzard's latest ideas and allowed them to test out new possibilities which opened the door to many new mechanics and ways to play the game. As a player from the release of World of Warcraft back in 2004 I have seen the transformation of the game from the start. From Ragnaros to the fall of Argus I have played this game for at least thirteen years and I still love it. I have high expectation for this new expansion due to all of revamped mechanics that are making a come back as well as new mechanics and the allied races that will add so much more room for lore. I have witnessed the evolution of World of Warcraft and through it’s best moments to some of it’s worst times. I have no doubt they will make this expansion one worth remembering, war is one of blizzards specialties after all.
As Battle for Azeroth became a pre-purchase product they already begun introducing new things into the game that we will be able take advantage of after you do just a few easy quest scenarios. The eighth expansion of World of Warcraft promises to bring a lot of changes as well as bringing back some of the scenario mechanics we saw back in the Mist's of Pandaria expansion. Alongside the new allied races we are going to be obtaining slowly over the next few expansions there is going to be a lot of new things blizzard will be testing out in the upcoming years.
Starting with my favorite part, the Allied Races system that is being implemented into the game is something that excites me to no end. This brings unique races into the fold that will allow people to access specific races by doing specific quests or reaching an exalted reputation with a specific group. With this new system in place it also allows Blizzard to add new playable races into the game at any time. Players that pre-purchased the game as of January 30, 2018 can unlock four allied races that can be played after doing the main story lines and getting an exalted reputation with the relevant race from some of the characters we have seen in Legion. I have already begun playing as a highborn mage which brings a whole new dynamic with the racial abilities to PVP and I have nothing but high hopes for the future of allied races.
Artifact changes are being made thankfully. The artifact grind to level up the legendary weapon system Blizzard created was an absolute pain. I know that it was a new system that was implemented to try something new which was an interesting aspect however it was executed poorly. The system took a drastic turn from needing only several thousand-artifact powers to level equipment to several billion which was insane. In this new expansion they are allowing legendary equipment to stay however they are changing the system to a more automatic system where power is collected automatically after completing specific situations. This system also allows a little bit more customization with letting players choose a specific ability out of the four given unique abilities per tier, up to three or four tiers. Getting rid our legendary weapons they are replacing it with a necklace that allows us to utilize a new resource discovered after the tear in Silithus as Sargeras himself plunged his sword into the very world itself, leaving a scar that Azeroth, as a being herself will try to heal releasing this new resource we call Azerite. In the new expansion we as the champions will be able to utilize this resource to power a necklace that will enchant some of our other gear allowing us to enhance our abilities with unique power.
Lastly the game play of Battle for Azeroth is going to be as exciting ever with all new PVE and PVP opportunities. From Battlefronts to Island Incursions there will be plenty of new content in the game to keep new players and old players busy for a good while. Two new land masses will be introduced into the game meanwhile as we get ready for the release of patch 8.0 there has been a lot of talks about how the map will be permanently changed due to the crazy progression of lore in the game moves forward. The alliance will finally conquer the Eastern Kingdoms as they retake Lordearon, the horde will dominate Kalimdor after the burning of Tel'drassil.
I am looking forward to all of the changes that are coming up in the newest expansion and I cannot wait to see what happens. I have high expectations for a truly great experience as stories unfold and new mechanics are added into the game. Allied Races fighting alongside the Alliance and Horde as we try to keep a balance of power in Azeroth. Will the champions destroy each other as the void creeps in behind our backs? So many unanswered questions that keep the players of World of Warcraft intrigue
