The House of Small Cubes Review

Unhappy is he to whom the memories of childhood bring only fear and sadness.
— H. P. Lovecraft

English: The House of Small Cubes

French: La Maison en Petits Cubes

Runtime: 12 mins

This short film was created in 2008 and is able to have a range of emotions in its 12 min runtime. There is no dialog, but somehow speaks volumes. When the main/only character loses a memento he goes in search of it and through his journey he remembers things from his past. This animation is a short treasure that is very easy to overlook in the shallow pool that is the anime selection on Netflix.

Some memories are realities, and are better than anything that can ever happen to one again.
— Willa Cather
